Guinness world record to an electric bike company

Longest Journey on a Motorized Bicycle

At Zen, we believe in pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Zen E-bikes founder Dr. Ravi Kempaiah set the Guinness World Record for the longest e-bike journey in 2016, traveling 8209 kms in 34 days [ approx 250km/day] across the breadth of the USA. At the end of the journey, he realized the cost of charging his E-bike batteries was less than $6 for the entire ride, and an astonishing number ($6 for 8209 kms) made him realize that E-bikes are the future of urban commuting and biking in general. With this inspiration behind him, he teamed up with experienced engineers and friends to bootstrap the company.

Birth of Zen E-Bike

Then, Ravi continued riding his e-bikes over the course of doctoral research work, understanding the needs of E-bike riders in North America. This extensive experience guides all our design at Zen E-bikes. Every Zen E-Bike is built with this record-breaking spirit in mind, crafted from the highest-quality materials and powered by reliable and tested technologies.

The team was lucky enough to receive technical and financial support from some of the very best scientists in the world. In November 2021, the company was registered in Canada, and the assembly and delivery of E-bikes started in May 2022.
